What is FirstNet?
FirstNet, aka National Public Safety Broadband Network, is a separate dedicated wireless network built for First Responders and those that support them in times of disaster. There is congressional oversight to the delivery of FirstNet and an associated Department of Commerce agency, FirstNet Authority responsible for delivery and adoption.
